How XP Works on SEMA Rewards: Levels, Shards and the Shard Store

XP, short for experience points and sometimes written EXP, is your lifetime score on SEMA Rewards. Every video you submit, every approval, the views your approved videos bring in, your daily tasks and your quests all add to it. XP raises your level, and every new level pays you Shards to spend in the Shard Store.

This guide covers where XP comes from, how levels and Shards work, and what XP does and does not change.

XP, levels and Shards in a minute

  • XP is a score you build up. It is never spent.
  • Your level goes up each time your XP passes the next threshold, and every level takes a little more XP than the one before.
  • Shards are paid automatically every time you reach a new level. They are what you spend in the Shard Store.

Spending Shards never lowers your XP or your level. And your account has one XP total: clipping and UGC campaigns both feed it.

Where XP comes from

Your videos

This is where most of your XP comes from:

What happensXP
You submit a video+1
The video is approved+1 more
Every 1.000 views on an approved video+1, up to 100.000 views per video

On UGC campaigns, all of it counts double.

  • A rejected video earns no XP. The point for submitting stays only while the video is not rejected.
  • Views are capped per video. One video adds at most 100 XP from its views, or 200 on UGC, so a clip on 2 million views adds 100, not 2.000.
  • Your views XP grows with your views, which are updated twice a day.

An example. You submit a clip to a clipping campaign, it is approved, and it reaches 48.000 views: 1 + 1 + 48 = 50 XP. The same video on a UGC campaign would be worth 100 XP.

Daily tasks

Your dashboard shows Today's tasks, three of them, and they reset at midnight WIB:

  1. Submit a post to any campaign. It counts once the video is eligible to earn, which means past the campaign's minimum views if it has one. A rejected video does not count.
  2. Share your referral link. It counts when someone else opens your link that day.
  3. Explore campaigns.

Each task is worth +1 XP, and finishing all three in one day adds a +5 XP bonus: 8 XP for a full day. A day with all three done also keeps your streak going.

Weekly and monthly quests

Quests are bigger goals, shown on your dashboard and your Progression page:

  • Weekly, on CPM campaigns: submit 50 videos, get 30 of them approved, and reach 2 million views on that week's videos, with each video counting up to 100.000. Every goal you complete adds +5 XP.
  • Monthly: keep a 30-day streak of daily tasks, and reach 10 million views on approved videos from CPM campaigns that month, with each video counting up to 200.000. Each adds +30 XP.

Levels: how much XP each one takes

Everyone starts at level 1. The total XP you need to reach a level is 25 × the level × the level, so each level takes a little more than the last:

LevelTotal XPShards for reaching it
2100100
3225150
5625250
102.500500
2010.0001.000
3022.5001.500
5062.5002.500

Your Progression page shows the levels ahead of you, with the XP each one needs and the Shards it pays.

Shards and the Shard Store

  • Shards come only from levelling up. Each new level pays 50 Shards × the level you reach, so level 10 pays 500 and level 20 pays 1.000. Climbing from level 1 to level 10 pays 2.700 Shards in all.
  • You spend them in the Shard Store, which opens once you are Silver on either of your two ranks. Until then, your Shards wait for you. How Ranks Work on SEMA Rewards explains ranks.
  • What is on offer is set by SEMA and changes over time. Some rewards need a minimum level, some have limited stock each month, and profile cosmetics, such as a banner or an avatar border, are one per account. A physical item asks for a delivery address when you redeem it.
  • A redemption is a request that the SEMA team processes. If it is rejected, the Shards come back to you.
  • Shards are not money. They cannot be withdrawn or moved to your wallet.

What XP does, and what it does not

  • XP raises your level and pays you Shards. That is its main job.
  • XP places you on the Leaderboard, which ranks creators by total XP and updates twice a day. The number on your avatar there is your XP level.
  • XP does not change what a campaign pays you. Rates are set by each campaign, and the CPM bonus comes from your rank, not your level.
  • XP does not move your rank. Ranks count approved videos and their views, separately for clipping and UGC, and they unlock their own perks.

How to build XP faster

  • Post videos that get approved. Each one is worth 2 XP before a single view, and up to 100 more from its views.
  • Spread your views over many videos. With views capped at 100.000 per video, ten clips on 50.000 views each add more than 500 XP, while one clip on a million views adds about 100.
  • Finish your daily tasks. That is 8 XP every day, and 30 days in a row also completes the monthly streak quest.
  • Join the Discord once for 50 XP.
